The Board of Deacons
Here is a list of the Deacon Committees.
Everyone is invited to join our committees. We welcome your help.
The Board of Deacons met on Sunday, July 11. This meeting was originally scheduled for June 27,
but was postponed due to numerous conflicts.
We will be hosting Family Promise during the week of July 18. Several families (with children) will be sleeping in Klair Hall during this week. In addition, Family Promise has requested more financial support from Limestone. This was discussed and it was decided that the the money from the September Deacons envelopes will go to Family Promise. This will be noted in the Chronicle and other places. The Refreshing Campaign was discussed. It is apparent that some church members have questions about the status of the campaign, as well as about the status of the construction. Much information is now available on the church web site at www.limestonepresbyterian.org/Future/. Additional updates will be provided at least weekly on this web page. Buddy Brown stated that the number of people coming in to the Food Closet is less. This could be due to change in the food stamp program. In May 9.5 bags were given out, which fed 14 adults and 4 children. In June 16 bags were given out with 17 certificates. This helped 26 adults and 8 children. In June, 201 people were served Communion. In July 128 were served Communion. Buddy Brown has started a Valet Parking Service for those who needed it. Folks are now able to enter Klair Hall from the side entrance and have a "valet" park their car. It has been very successful and will continue while we are meeting downstairs. The next meeting of the Board of Deacons is July 27, 2010 at Rosemary Hickman's house. This is the annual Deacon/Elder meeting. The next regular meeting will be September 19 in the Ken Read room at 12:15PM. Moderator -- Mike Casale; Vice-Moderator -- Bill Bergstrasser; Treasurer -- Lisa McClure; Secretary -- Paula Cooper
