Deacons’ Corner
Last updated 9 May 2008

Your Board of Deacons wants to remind you of the Deacons' Fund envelopes included with your pledge boxes. Envelopes may also be found in the pews. On Communion Sunday, congregants are asked to make a contribution to the Fund to aide the distressed and afflicted in our Church community. Monies received will be used for this purpose and you may place your envelope in the offering plate on any Sunday convenient for you. Although you may earmark your donation, we ask that you consider making it a general one so the dollars may be distributed as needs arise.

Your Board of Deacons continues to be grateful for donations from the congregation though the Deacon envelopes. We thank you on behalf of those whose lives are helped through your generosity.

Emmanuel Dining Room served 161 adults and children on March 24, 2008. Thanks to those who prepare and serve the meal. Remember that cookie bakers are always welcome and there are turkeys in the Klair Hall freezer that can be prepared. Sign-up sheets for both are on the narthex bulletin board.

The Limestone Food Closet provided food for 56 adults and 49 children by distributing 50 grocery bags along with food and gas certificates.

The Deacons are grateful for the anonymous donor who will provide a cabinet for the new sound system. What a blessing - this upgrade made the fantastic "Moses and the Freedom Fanatics" that much more enjoyable.

Caring and Sharing continues to reach out to others by sending cards, providing rides and meals and assisting with funeral/memorial services.

Your contributions for the period March 17 to April 20 helped individuals in the following ways:
Utiilities $942
Lodging $50
Car Payment $270
TOTAL $1262
