You are Invited to Holy Week Celebrations at Limestone Presbyterian Church
This most Holy Week of the year begins this weekend (Palm Sunday) and culminates with Easter Sunday.

Saturday (March 15) Community-wide Potluck Dinner/Movie:
The Prince of Egypt

You are invited Saturday, March 15, to a community-wide dinner and movie night at Limestone. Starting at 6:00 p.m. we will enjoy a delicious potluck dinner together. Please bring a main dish, salad or dessert to share with others. Then at 7:00 p.m., we will watch the Prince of Egypt, the Academy Award-winning American animated film by DreamWorks on the life of Moses. You are welcome to join us whether you come for dinner or not. We plan to use a DVD projector and show the movie on a large screen. Join us for a time of delicious food, a fun movie and great fellowship.

Palm/Passion Sunday (March 16) Worship Services
We have two worship services every Sunday. Our 8:45 a.m. worship service includes contemporary Christian music led by the Living Water Ensemble. Our 11:00 a.m. traditional worship service includes music by our Chancel Choir. Pastor Carolyn Gillette's sermon is titled "Pleasing the Crowds." The whole congregation will join in the dramatic reading of the story of Holy Week found in the Gospel according to Matthew. All worshippers will be given the gift of Palm branches! The Limestone Praise Chimes will play a festive piece and special music will be sung by Living Water and the Chancel Choir.

Maundy Thursday Passover Seder (March 20)
Our Maundy Thursday worship service will be a special one at Limestone. At 7:00 p.m., we will gather in our church's Klair Fellow-ship Hall for a wonderful intergenerational event to learn about and share in a Passover Seder. We see the light of the candles, we hear the telling of the story, we smell and taste and touch the wonderful Passover foods that are symbols of the story. We will learn how this meal was important to Jesus, and how he used bread and wine at this meal to teach us a new lesson of God's love, as we share in the Lord's Supper together. Come and join us this evening for a special meal that Jesus Christ invites us to share together with him.

Good Friday Worship Service (March 21)
You are invited to the 7:00 p.m. worship service when we remember Jesus' death on the cross. Our simple service will be a "Tenebrae" with the gradual extinguishing of the sanctuary lights as we hear the biblical story. The Chancel Choir will sing "The Reason Why" by Smith.

Prayer Vigil at Limestone: Time for God in a Space for God
Beginning on Good Friday (March 21) at 8:00 p.m. and concluding on Easter Sunday (March 23) morning, Limestone Presbyterian Church's sanctuary will be open for all hours, day and night, for people to pray. Church members and friends have signed up to be there around the clock. People have found it to be a transforming way to grow in their faith (sample prayers and biblical readings will be available) and to care for one another (a list of those to pray for will be in our sanctuary). We can always pray anywhere at any time, but this vigil is a way for us to come to a quiet place, away from our usual distractions, and spend some time with God.

Easter Egg Hunt (Saturday, March 22)
Children, ages 1-12, are invited with their families to our annual community-wide Easter Egg Hunt. Schedule for children: Ages 1-3: 9:30 a.m.; Ages 4-6: 9:45 a.m. Ages 7-9: 9:55 a.m.; Ages10-12: 10:05 a.m. This event is "Rain or Shine" (if it rains, it will be inside the church). Bring a friend and see the Easter Bunny!

Easter Sunday is March 23!
Sunrise Worship Service at 6:45 a.m. will be outdoors (inside if it rains) with a dramatic telling of the Easter story and guitar music. Everyone is invited to a delicious breakfast in the Klair Fellowship Hall after the worship service.

8:45 AM and 11:00 AM Worship Services will include Pastor Bruce Gillette's sermon ("Do Not Be Afraid"), special choral and brass music and wonderful Easter hymns! At the 8:45 a.m. service Living Water will sing "Love Crucified Arose" and the 11:00 a.m. service the Chancel Choir will sing "Risen Today" and "Empty Now." Join us for the joyful celebration of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Church School for all ages (including a nursery, groups for Middle and High School youth, and two adult groups) meets weekly on Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
