Opportunities to Grow at the

Limestone Presbyterian Church in Wilmington

We are a growing church that offers many opportunities for personal growth.

Church School
Church School meets every Sunday starting at 10:00 AM and finishing at 11:00 AM.  Children are encouraged to go to either the 8:45 a.m. worship service before church school, or the 11:00 a.m. worship service following church school. Both services include a “Time with Children of all ages” . We have classes for all ages: nursery class for infants and toddlers, children's classes, middle school and high school classes as well as classes for adults (see below).Please contact Church School Coordinator Cinda McCombie  (church office phone:  994-5646 or home phone:  234-9114 and email:  cindamc@comcast.net) for additional information about our Church School program, or look at the information available on our Church School website.

Life Long Learning for Adults:

Class is held at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings in the Upper Room. More information about the schedule of classes is available on the Life Long Learning website.

Seeking Personal Spirituality Book Study Group meets on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month at 7:00 PM, in the library. We are currently reading and contemplating on "The Power of Now" by Eckart Tolle. Contact Fred Kirschman, phone:  234-9619, for further information.  All are welcome. 

Mid-Week Bible Study  Popular teacher Wes Wardell is leading this Fall's Bible Study group which meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month at 7:00 PM in our church library. BYOB - Bring Your Own Bible. All are welcome.

Parenting Active Parenting Now is offered every Fall.  Pastors Bruce & Carolyn Gillette have helped write a church guide to a popular parenting program.  Classes start in October  All are welcome.

Church Youth Groups
Beyond our wonderful programs for Middle School and High School youth on Sunday mornings, we have weekly programs for youth on Sunday evenings and other times for learning, fun, fellowship and service.  More information is available from Stephanie Shelton (Sr. High) or Karen Cratz (Middle School).  All youth are welcome. Confirmation Class
Our pastors and lay leaders teach the Confirmation Class for 9th grade high school students starting in October and ending in June.

Inquirers/New Members Groups
The Inquirer's Group is for people interested in learning more about our church. All are welcome (people interested in possible church membership as well as long-time church members). The Inquirer's Group will meet on a regular basis, following the later worship service. A delicious lunch will be provided for the meeting. The style of our Inquirer's Group is informal; it is a combination of presentations by pastors and discussions. The Inquirers meeting is usually completed by 2:00 PM. Presbyterian Women
Presbyterian Women (PW) have regular monthly activities through three Circles that meet at different times. Each "Circle" is a small group that has its own Bible study. Presbyterian Men
Limestone’s Men’s Ministry is a Chartered Member of the National Council of Presbyterian Men. The purpose of our Ministry is to support and encourage men to have a meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ. We meet the second Saturday of each month for breakfast (except for August). We also have a variety of programs, studies and events that run throughout the year. All men are welcome to participate with us. Our Church Library
Our church library is on our church's main floor to the left as you leave our sanctuary at the end of the hallway. A separate library for children is on the stage of Klair Hall.Hundreds of dollars are spent annually to add the best books, DVDs, videotapes and CDs on a wide range of topics for all ages to our church libraries' collection.

Scouts

Vacation Bible School
Every summer we offer a popular Vacation Bible School program for the whole community.

Special Seasonal Studies
This Lenten season, starting on Wednesday, February 16, we are offering "The Bible From Scratch - The New Testament for Beginners". The course will be held on Mondays at  11:00 a.m. and Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. Enjoy a delicious, simple meal and then a wonderful learning experience in the weeks before Easter. Supper is at 6:00, the study begins at 6:30.

Interfaith Resource Center

Princeton Seminary
Our church's outstanding seminary is only 90 minutes away. Several church members have attended special lectures and events at the seminary, often carpooling from our church. The seminary's events page is: http://www.ptsem.edu/know/oncampus

Church Conference Centers and Camp
Individual church members and families attend programs at Massanetta Springs Conference Center, Montreat Conference Center, Camp Johnsonburg, and other places.
