While we're celebrating and congratulating ourselves on the completion of the
first 50 years of Limestone's ministry, it's timely to look ahead, and begin
serious planning for the next 50 years and beyond.
Are we positioned well to serve our members and to meet the needs of our ministry
going forward, or are there things that should be done with our building, its
layout, the grounds, parking, etc, to help ensure the effectiveness of our efforts?
The display, Building for the Future,
illustrates a number of new and exciting projects that we may (or may not) want to
begin planning. These include:
a memorial garden,
a playground,
a courtyard,
a pavilion,
a storage building,
a new sign,
a new entrance design to include a more open and lighted Narthex,
new landscaping,
acquisition of adjacent property,
lighting the steeple and cross,
more parking spaces,
etc.
Inside, we could have:
a new music suite,
a new fellowship area,
a relocated nursery,
additional classrooms,
and several other changes.
This layout is not an agreed-upon plan. It's a compilation of thoughts and ideas to
encourage all of us to think, pray, prioritize, and begin a process of
"building for the future."
We need everyone's input on this. Please review the display and forward your
thoughts, comments and suggestions to us. Specifically, tell us what you like, what
you don't like, what you would do differently, and what you feel are the most
important things.
Providing input is easy. You can:
send a note to, or leave a note in, the church office in care of the Long Range Planning Committee; or
contact any member of the Long-Range Planning Committee directly to discuss your ideas and priorities.
The key is to let your vision for Limestone be known.
Thank you for your caring and support through the sharing of your ideas and your
vision for Limestone's future.
Please let us hear from you. The Limestone Long-Range Planning Committee Pastor Bruce Gillette
